Text Me

Okay.. This is my first reader challenge. I was inspired after hanging with my Quilty peeps in Austin and saw the challenge in quilting Arts. Finished it Lickity split and sent it off. It was loads of fun.

I need to do more of these. Little thought, a small project and done.

This is the description:
The name is actually "Text Me". When I saw the challenge I immediately thought about our addiction to cell phones and random information and thought about the phrase Feed Me.

So in my creation I stepped back into the past where it began with the typewriter and the telegraph. I found a late 1800s newspaper article that talked about people who met and became acquainted because they took the information that was transmitted via telegraph.

Then with the old school select type I did the play on feed me and Voila. I printed on fabric, embellished the piece with paper, stickers, paint and thread painting. It is machine quilted and the binding is painted fabric.
