I wish everyone love and continued stitching blessings as we move into a new year filled with even more creative thoughts and ideas and the desire to find more time to complete them all.

Tis the season to be sewing....

Sooo what have I been up too.  Treating myself... Opted to purchase my gifts this year to avoid the stress of having to complete things.  Genius.  I have no idea why I didn't think of this for the past few decades.  Lol

So I have been able to have dinners, bake cakes, cook turkey's in many flavors, bootcamp with glee and have lovely sit in stitch days.

So here is a pictorial review of December, thus far.

I'm pebbling baby....

Finished my four ring... Hanging up art the NYC Mod meeting on the 7th..

Gotta get the selfie in at the meeting.

Then after the meeting I ran home to finish cooking and prepping for my dinner that Saturday.  I love my ALOC3 folks... Second anniversary dinner...cocktails and thread style.

Pernil style turkey.

The infamously yummy pumpkin spice caramel cake..

Ornament give always...

Fabric wreaths.

Finishing what I start...

Almost done.. Just needs binding

Out and about in my neighborhood.

Ducks on ice... Love my neighborhood.

Bootcamp morning... 5:30am

High tea with my book club - ladies of the folio...

New project ideas... On a snowy sewy morning.

More boot camp morning... Yes it's 5:30am outside...

Love my mantra band... Yes I am...

Holiday office party fun...

And my last 5:30am session for 2013....this morning...

Alas I have finished the other two DWR

So I began the modern DWR that I sketched out... This category required a minimum of four rings... Interpreted any which way you like... So I decided after folks marry and it's cold they nest... Doni call this "NESTING". There is the traditional DWR construction on a 32" scale, trapunto ring, applique ring, and a thread painted ring...

And I also managed to finish the single ring challenge.

And I wanted to use shott cottons in solids and do something textures in the middle... While it is pleated.. I am calling this one "Pucker up"...

A traditional DWR...simply simplicity

So my guild has this challenge that has gone international... Of course Victoria is behind it because the challenge is a Double Wedding Ring.

There are 3 categories: small, traditional and modern.  I started a couple and restarted and then designed and started again..

As of now I have one complete and one almost done...

So for this one that I shall call "DWR in a Cabin" i will show you my process.  I originally had this grand idea to make log cabins and cut them up.  However, god was shining on me as I walked intoCity  Quilter and saw the fabric.  Whew. Thank goodness, because I would never have finished it. Lol

Complete

The back

Design time

 Practice practice

And it was sooo much fun.

a Stitchin Good Time

What do you get when you mix cocktails, quilting, food and great friends? A STITCHIN GOOD WEEKEND.

So I made it up to Connecticut Saturday eve because I was out super super late... Managed to remember to pack some clothes and a toothbrush.  I had my Juki, two quilts that needed to be sandwiched and basted, and my pattern I created for the modern category of the NYC Mod Double Wedding Ring challenge.

On my way to some stitchin good times.

On the thruway

Sipping time

Finished this later.. Can't get this in the states.. Brought it back from Argentina.

Getting ready to rock and roll... Sunday morning... Don't you love her space.  I brought my Juki over for a play date with hers... Smiles

Waiting for David... And it was freezing out there this morning..

Our lovely hostess with the moistest, Lisa and David who is Heeelarious... Hours of endless laughter and antics...

David brought these awesome polyester dresdens and asked Lisa and I to make up a block for him...

Oh time to sip...

Getting down to business...

Progress on the DWR Challenge.

Practically finished...

Time to squeeze in some quilting on my other projects.

Lisa has whipped up her Dresden challenge block for David.

And here ya have the three amigos via selfie... Lmao

It was a fantabulous weekend...hugs and thanks to the redheadedmermaid.
